She also performs in community live theatre and owns the stage singing everything from punk to opera. Kevann is fiercely passionate about social justice and caring for her friends and family. She lives in Calgary with two feline roommates.
Donna Carter has a unique ability to synthesize life experience into digestible life lessons. She is sought after as a speaker internationally because of her clarity, humor, and the light-bulb moments she triggers for people seeking help on their spiritual journeys. Donna is the author of three books with curriculum components which are distributed internationally. They are making appearances in Islamic countries, developing, and communist countries and are also being used strategically on U.S. military bases. A frequent television and radio guest, Donna captures her audience with lively and spontaneous conversation. Together with her daughter Kevann, she hosts Grow on the Go, a weekly radio show aired in the Greater Toronto area and on the digital platform FAITHSTRONGTODAY.COM
She has traveled widely and is passionate about social justice; especially helping women and children achieve their full potential. Her recent travels include connecting with the underground church in China, personally experiencing the catastrophic earthquake in Haiti, and linking Canadian women with young mothers living in abject poverty in El Salvador through Compassion International. Donna and her husband Randy are co-founders of Straight Talk Ministries, a non-profit organization that exists to help people find faith and learn to apply it to everyday life. They have two young adult daughters, Kendall and Kevann and a wonderful son-in-law, Mike. Donna is an emerging visual artist. She loves painting, reading, and loving on her rescue puppy Levi.
SWO WIMM CANADA SPRING 2017 EVENT
Martina Ortiz Luis It’s hard to believe that at only 15 years old, Martina Ortiz Luis has accomplished so much in her musical journey already, but she certainly has…and in a big way! To start with, Martina is currently the full time anthem singer for the NHL’s Toronto Maple Leafs. This is the first time in Leafs history that this honour has been bestowed on someone, and Martina has been wowing crowds at the Air Canada Centre and fans across Canada and the US during games on TV. She has also been fortunate to receive great reviews in social media and major media outlets including the Toronto Star, Leafs SB Nation, The Toronto Sun, NBC Sports, CTV, City TV, and CBC Television to name a few. At the same time Martina has been writing and is working with Multi-Platinum producer Rob Wells on new original songs set to release in 2017. Her musical journey began at the age of 4, performing at many music festivals, charity events, corporate and private functions throughout Canada . Throughout the years Martina continued to build a reputation as a young dynamic performer and in December 2013, She was a major part in the extension for the highly acclaimed CNN Films documentary, GIRL RISING, which was narrated by A-list stars like Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep, Selena Gomez, etc; to appeal for help/donations to provide education to disadvantaged girls all over the world. The documentary has been shown in various “Girl Rising events” across Canada. She wrote and recorded the official World Vision Christmas song “The Spirit of Christmas” in 2014 and went on a Canadian media tour with appearances on Sirius XM, CP 24 and City TV shows across the country as a spokesperson promoting child sponsorship, anti-child labor and the World Vision Gift Catalogue. A promotional music video was also produced for the song and featured various Canadian celebrities joining Martina as part of the video. In 2015, Martina hit the world stage, as she was chosen as a contestant on the Philippines version of the very popular TV series “The Voice”. She made it all the way to the “sing offs” and garnered a large social media following as a result of her participation in the show.
